Platzs score unfolds in broad segments of lushly flowing, beautiful-sounding music which calmly spreads over vast surfaces and which is allowed to develop organically, build up slowly and ultimately reach a point of intense compression. This composer is enough of a constructivist to want to offer more than simply captivatingly beautiful music. His work is built according to all the structural rules of the avant-garde; the demands made on the performers are enormous and were mastered with bravura.
