  • Description

Text by Claus Litterscheid (Phases I - X) and Text Piece noire II by Heiner Müller (scene description) (Phase XI)

Characters: Woman (soprano) - Man (baritone) - Child/Bird/old Man (speaking part)

Platzs score unfolds in broad segments of lushly flowing, beautiful-sounding music which calmly spreads over vast surfaces and which is allowed to develop organically, build up slowly and ultimately reach a point of intense compression. This composer is enough of a constructivist to want to offer more than simply captivatingly beautiful music. His work is built according to all the structural rules of the avant-garde; the demands made on the performers are enormous and were mastered with bravura. (Wolfgang Schreiber in the Süddeutsche Zeitung)
