I carefully transferred the beauty of Schumanns piano writing onto the strings and placed the emphasis on the warm-sounding lower register of the stringed instruments. It was a delight to retrace the wonderful Heine settings, and I am thoroughly delighted to know that this new version has been interpreted by such wonderful musicians as Jochen Kowalski and the Petersen Quartet.
